Mogadishu, Somalia –28th September 2025 — The Somali Child Rights Coalition (SCRC), with the support from Save the Children, successfully conducted a three-day consultation meeting followed by a validation workshop to prepare the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Report on Child Rights in Somalia. The event took place at Green Paradise Hotel in Mogadishu and brought together a wide range of child rights organizations, government representatives, and other key stakeholders.
The consultation sessions focused on gathering inputs, evidence, and recommendations from coalition members and child rights advocates to ensure the report accurately reflects the current situation of children in Somalia. Discussions covered critical themes such as education, child protection, access to health services, child participation, and justice for children.
The validation workshop, held at the conclusion of the consultation, served as an important platform to review and finalize the draft report.
