The Somali Child Rights Coalition (SCRC) today participated in the official launch of the Joint Force Alliance Somalia Chapter, held at the Palms Hotel inside the Airport, Mogadishu. The Alliance brings together leading child-focused organizations including Save the Children International, SOS Childrenโs Villages, Plan International, and World Vision, united in strengthening collaboration to advance child rights and protection in Somalia.
The launch event convened representatives from civil society organizations, government institutions, development partners, parliamentarians and community stakeholders. The formation of the Joint Force Alliance marks a significant step toward coordinated advocacy, strengthened partnerships, and collective action to address the challenges facing children across the country.
A highlight of the event was a powerful children-led panel discussion, where children confidently asked the panelist questions on issues affecting their lives. Their participation underscored the importance of meaningful child engagement and reinforced the principle that children are not only beneficiaries of programs but active agents of change.
Speakers throughout the event emphasized the need for unified efforts to improve child protection systems, promote access to quality services, and ensure inclusive policies that safeguard the rights and wellbeing of every child.
As a national coalition committed to promoting and protecting child rights, SCRC reaffirmed its dedication to working collaboratively within the Joint Force Alliance. The Coalition emphasized the importance of coordinated advocacy, accountability, and amplifying childrenโs voices in decision-making processes.
SCRC looks forward to contributing its expertise in policy engagement, community mobilization, and child rights advocacy to ensure the Alliance delivers tangible and lasting impact for children in Somalia.
